ROBERTO ODDO

Roberto Oddo is an Italian designer that has always had a unique and unconventional approach to design, and to life.

When he took his first breath, an unusual blizzard hit the otherwise mild island of Sardinia: exactly as the snow, he was born to amaze the world.

He gained a Quantity Surveyor title in Italy and started working in a carpenter’s shop in Novara, Piedmont (Italy). There, Roberto designed handmade furniture and interior solutions for domestic and commercial spaces, working also for international clients.

This is when his dissatisfaction with the furniture sector started growing and convinced him to create Uniq Design in 2013, his own furniture line from scratch. In 2021 Uniq Design became OddoSway, a new living concept. His goal is to create high quality custom furniture to help each individual express their own unique personality.

Roberto Oddo’s explosive mind has always been fuelled by his past as DJ and music producer.

His passion for music began with the arrival at his birth home of the very first stereo in the ‘90s and increased with the love for good ol’ bands such as Depeche Mode, The Doors, Nirvana, Bob Marley and for Italian artists like Litfiba and Articolo 31.

Growing up surrounded by music – Italian singer Marisa Sannia was his aunt! –, he started his career at Radio Supersound with a weekly DJ set of house music between 2003 and 2006.

While working as furniture designer, Roberto kept playing as DJ on weekends in the city center of Novara, becoming known as Robert Unique. The fresh musical environment, exemplified in the minimalist graphic covers, influenced his fascination for modern and geometrical patterns.

In 2011 he released as Robert Unique his first solo album “Diary for future”.

At about the same time, he founded Default04 with a guitarist friend. The adventure was self-founded: Roberto’s home was their studio and he designed both the covers and the tracks. Their first single arrived in 2011: “A Kiss For You” was played by 20 different Italian radios and made Roberto known in the sector.

From 2009 to 2013, Roberto worked also for MG Records, today Media Premier as sound effects editor and as film production assistant later. During this time, he had the opportunity to work for several music videos, short and feature movies

Influenced by the electronic notes of the music of the future as well as by the enchanting vibes of the past, Roberto Oddo’s creations carry you to an alternative dimension.

His creative process mixes traditional craftmanship with fresh and innovative designs drawn from our modern societies.

The architecture of the skyscrapers, the elegant female body, the labyrinth of the metropolitan streets, the digital media, the sensual call of the urban jungle: these are only few of the elements that inspire him and fuel the creativity behind OddoSway.
